Toronto Fashion Week Essentials

Today is day 1 of Toronto fashion week! Here’s a quick look at some of my must-have items that get me through a very jam packed schedule.

Of course my kit and brushes are the most important thing. I only need a basic kit as the key colours for each show will be provided. Armani Luminous Silk foundation, MAC Face and Body, Pro colour correctors, and Invisible powder are always stashed in m kit for flawless skin. I have a arsenal of brushes but there are five I cannot live without. My two Madina brushes I picked up in Milan years ago. I have one for blush and one for eyes, they’re perfectly shaped and incredibly soft for seamless blending. My vintage MAC #37 brush that they don’t make anymore is kind of the super-sized version of my Madina blending brush. It’s really good for powdering under the eyes, around the nose or for blown out eyes. The Hakuhodo is another version of the tapered blending brush that I love. For amazing skin I use the Shu 18 brush with liquid or cream foundation.

Anyone that knows me is well aware of the fact that I’m hungry every three hours! So quick snacks are essential to keep me going in between doing makeup when there is no time for a break.

5 inch heels are for models backstage not for makeup artists. My uniform for the week will be skinny jeans paired with a variety of high top sneakers. Fashion forward and comfortable.

Check back to see what happened backstage at TFW all week.
