Best of New York Fashion Week SS18

No matter what the season skin is in. Complexions that appear incredibly flawless with literally no trace of foundation was the standout trend for the week. Graphic eyeliner popped up at Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, and Jason Wu. Most shows were devoid of standout lip colour in favour of the models natural lips enhanced with lip balm.

Louis Vuitton Cruise 2017

louis_vuitton_resort_2017

Oscar Niemeyer–designed Niterói Contemporary Art Museum which looks like it’s from another planet, was the most amazing venue for Louis Vuitton resort. The collection felt very energetic–brights mixed with black and white, athletic, and youthful. The makeup look didn’t compete with the designs, essentially it was either barely there or an exaggerated eye.

Public School FW16

Felder Felder AW15

felder_felder_AW15

Day 1 of London fashion week and my first show to attend was Felder Felder. Standing in line outside the Freemasons’ hall in Covent Garden I realized a few things: I should have brought my fur, London was much colder than I had anticipated, and I shouldn’t have lingered in Pret for so long then I would be further ahead in the queue!

Best of New York Fashion Week AW15

NEW_YORK_FASHION_WEEK_AW15

As was the case last fall, I’m behind in my collection reviews due to being in London last week for fashion week. Flashback to New York where eyes definitely seemed to be the focus of many of the looks and natural matte skin was popular. I liked what Tom Pecheux did at Altuzarra combing cool and warm cream shadows for a 80’s feel on the eyes.

Karl Lagerfeld’s flower garden theme show was a floral masterpiece. The beauty look was taupe eyeshadow blended across the upper eyelids and over the bridge of the nose, and extended to the temples resulting in a subtle mask shape. The mesh overlay on the face added to the veiled look.

Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture

atelier_versace

The couture collections are well underway for spring 2015. Pat McGrath designed what she described as a modern, graphic smoky eye for Atelier Versace. I thought the use of negative space in the eye makeup mirrored the cut-out design of the collection. A flawless complexion, peachy nude lips,
