It’s time to dress up and go out, but if heading out for the evening has become a distant memory it’s probably time for a refresh on your beauty look. Whether you want to make a statement or keep it subtle these 3 looks will help you get started.

It goes without saying that a red lip is a night out go-to and even better if it doesn’t need to be touched up. NARS Long wearing PowerMatte Lip Pigment provides ample coverage in a matte texture that stays put. Add to the look with Maybelline Lasting Drama Eyeliner to create definition around the eyes. Pull the whole thing together with big curls. Hairdresser Martin Hillier of The Lounge Hair Studio used retro Hot Sticks and Electric London C5 Volume Liquid Mist and C7 Hair Spray to create this mega volume look. He goes on to say “Working with all textures of hair, I keep a full arsenal of hot tools from different eras of fashion in my kit, as you never know when you might need them.” Alternatively a  1/4 inch curling iron with a spiral wind will also do the trick.

Go for glow. Day or night it’s always a brilliant idea. Start with MAC Strobe Cream in Goldlite which leaves skin with a warm luminosity, before applying foundation. To continue the same texture on the body, apply Charlotte Tilbury’s Supermodel Body to décolleté, arms and legs for supreme sheen. Go for a smokey eye liner in a rich brown, try Victoria Beckhams’s Satin Kajal Liner in Cocoa, it’s the perfect substitute to the traditional black or grey smokey eye for evening. Finish the look with wet look waves Hillier recommends  Electric London P*-4 Preparation Spray and Cloud Burst Mousse applied to damp hair.

Throw your hair up and show off sculpted cheekbones with a cream contour in a cool undertone like Fenty Beauty Cream Bronzer in Teddy. Which gives a more natural look than powder. Skip enhancing the eyes and let a bold brow take centre stage. Shu Uemura Hard Formula shapes and defines with a mixture of wax and powder for impeccably groomed brows. It’s been a fave of mine for years. Complete the look with Chanel Rouge Allure Ink in Metallic Plum.
